Ron Gastrobar

Ron Blaauw, owner and chef of Ron Gastrobar At Home, started cooking at an early age. When he was 16 years old, he felt that a choice had to be made for the future. This brought him to culinary school: "Eventually it became Amsterdam, which I always had in mind. Away from Hoorn, where I was born and raised. This was it. I discovered that you could make an apple pie from an apple and salmon gravlax. That you could be creative, that you could surprise people, that you could make people happy."
