Beschrijving
Deze zwarte peper heeft een umami-smaak en lichte rooksmaak door vuur drogen. Eko Land boeren verbouwen het in agro-bossen in Sri Lanka. Island Black Pepper combineert Indiase Panyoor en lokale varianten, wat zorgt voor een hoog piperinegehalte en intense scherpte.
Ceylon kaneel komt uit Sri Lanka. De kaneel wordt geoogst van bomen op het land van kleine thee- en koffieboeren. 'Wilde' kaneel, van niet-plantagebomen, heeft een dikkere bast en sterkere houtsmaak. De smaak is eerst zoet, dan fris en citrusachtig, gevolgd door de herkenbare kaneelsmaak.
Deze paprika poeder herinnert je eraan dat paprika eigenlijk een fruit soort is, gekenmerkt door een zoete frisheid. Deze frisse fruitige smaak wordt gevolgd door een verwarmende licht aardse smaak, die bijna elk gerecht kan verrijken in kleur en smaak zonder het te overheersen. Wij werken samen met boer Peter. Hij is één en al passie als hij over paprika spreekt: “De smaak van de paprikapoeder van mijn oma behouden en mijn grond gezonder doorgeven aan mijn kinderen dan het nu is, dat is het mooiste wat er is. Al is het heel hard werken.”
