Limoen komt vaak ongenodigd van ver. Maar als het sappige, tropische vruchtje ook maar een tintje minder groen is, belandt ze na haar wereldreis op de dampende composthoop. Zonde! De fruitslager ontvangt deze verre reizigers met open armen. Om de kwade geesten van de industrie te verjagen, roken we de limoen ritueel op een bed van lieve vrouwe bedstro en salie. Hierdoor krijgt de Smoked Lime haar eigenaardige Mezcal karakter, met vanilletonen uit lokaal ‘onkruid’ en een uitgebalanceerde rooksmaak. Herrezen uit de as houdt de Smoked Lime zich kranig staande tussen alcoholhoudende dranken — al kan een welkomstcocktail van de fruitslager ook voor vuurwerk zorgen!
De fruitslagers doken in de bittere waarheid van de sinaasappelindustrie. Waar wij het jaar rond kunnen genieten van deze oranje exoten, worden wereldwijd mensen ziek door excessief pesticidegebruik. En dat terwijl de bitters in hun schillen in veel culturen juist medicinale eigenschappen worden toegedicht. Begeleid door inheemse bittere kruiden en gebrand eikenhout vormen de biologische broeders van (bloed)sinaasappels en grapefruit een multi-inzetbare oplossing: leng aan op 1:3 voor een 0.0 Negroni, 1:5 voor een onbespoten Spritz of 1:8 voor een “waste saving” Soda.
In deze fles vind je de mooiste kruiden, te plukken in de Nederlandse wilde natuur. Tijdens de verre tochten naar de koloniën werd ooit tonic ontdekt. Over Roze Bunker & Fruitslagers
De fruitslagers van Roze Bunker gaan de plakkerige problemen uit de voedselindustrie te lijf met kilo´s puur fruit en verse kruiden. Een siroop wordt alleen gemaakt als deze daadwerkelijk iets toevoegt aan een beter voedselsysteem. Waarom zou je water verplaatsen als dit gewoon uit de kraan komt? Door water pas op het laatst toe te voegen, scheelt dit veel transportvolume van een gemiddeld frisdrankmerk. 1 fles Roze bunker staat gelijk aan 1 krat frisdrank!
