The Crooked Waterway
De Kromme Watergang in Slijkplaat, Zeeland, is a restaurant that embodies a love for Zeeland. Chef Edwin Vinke and his wife Blanche opened their own restaurant in 1993. The old nursery school where they started set the scene for everything they did. Local ingredients, from the land and the water, were central to the cuisine. Chef Edwin worked hard to transform simple but beautiful ingredients into complex and meaningful dishes. After eight years, this was rewarded with a Michelin star and later a second one. In 2023, their 30th anniversary, their son Tom also became part of the kitchen brigade. Tom's arrival heralded a new phase. Edwin and Tom, father and son, together in the kitchen; that was another dream come true. From the cooklikeachef collection.
